NEW: Kennedy Plaza Cleared After Bag Found

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Kennedy Plaza was blocked off for about 45 minutes early this afternoon after a bag was left idle in the downtown bus hub.

Bus riders and busses were directed away for the plaza as Providence police and a bomb squad investigated a small bag, which was found near the “M” stop. A bomb-sniffing dog also checked the rest of the area.

After officers found nothing harmful in the bag, travelers were allowed back in the plaza.
