NEW: Judge Won’t Halt Pension Reform Law

Judge Sarah Taft-Carter has blocked an attempt by unions to block the state's pension reform law from taking effect on July.

Taft-Carter set a July 16 hearing .

The pension reform package passed last fall cuts the state's unfunded pension liability by $3 billion and is expeced to save taxpayers nearly $300 million by 2013,
