NEW: Hinckley Calls On Senator Whitehouse to Release Tax Returns

Monday, October 22, 2012

Republican Senate candidate Barry Hinckley is calling on incumbent Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to release his tax returns, according to a press release issued today.

We would like to find out the range of the effective tax rates the Senator has paid, if he maintains any foreign accounts, if he has foreign investments, and the types of tax shelters he uses, if any” said Patrick Sweeney, Hinckley’s campaign manager.

The Hinckley campaign criticized Whitehouse and appearance earlier this year on WPRI’s Newsmakers and he was unsure how much he earned annually from the Senate.

Hinckley has not released his tax returns either, but has said he would do so if Whitehouse does.

“This is the perfect time for Senator Whitehouse to state for the record what his effective tax rate was in 2011and put this issue to bed,” Sweeney said.

The Hinckley Campaign should have done this a long time ago.

Jonathan Flynn

The Hinckley campaign should shut of the lights and go home. It's over.
