NEW: Governor Patrick Names Quinn III Acting District Attorney for Bristol County

Governor Deval Patrick today named Bristol County First Assistant District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III as the Acting District Attorney (DA) for Bristol County.
“Tom brings a special depth of experience as a prosecutor in the Bristol County DA's office,” said Governor Patrick of Quinn.
As the new DA, Quinn will assume responsibility for operations performed in the Bristol County DA's office and fill the vacancy left by DA Sam Sutter who resigned.

“I am very grateful to Governor Patrick for appointing me to this important position and am humbled by the opportunity to serve the people of Bristol County in this capacity,” said Quinn.
Quinn's take over as Acting DA will be effective immediately and an election to select the next DA will take place in November of 2016.
