NEW: Governor Chafee Closes State Offices

Governor Lincoln Chafee has announced that all state offices are closed today as the state prepares for Hurricane Sandy.

"I am ordering non-essential state offices and agencies to be closed for Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, effective immediately,” Chafee said.

Only essential state employees, as determined by their respective agencies, should report to work.
