NEW: Governor Chafee Announces Tentative Plans for Marriage Equality Act Signing Ceremony

In anticipation of approval of marriage equality legislation by the Rhode Island House of Representatives on Thursday, May 2, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee plans to hold a public bill signing ceremony on the south steps of the State House immediately following the vote.
The signing ceremony is tentatively scheduled for 5:45 PM on the South steps of the State House. The Governor will be joined by the the Rhode Island Congressional Delegation, members of the Rhode Island House of Representatives and Senate, and marriage equality advocates.
