It’s been just under a week since GoLocalProv first integrated the SeeClickFix widget into its homepage, but in that time over a dozen reports and complaints have been filed. The reports have ranged from burning garbage to overflowing trashcans and have come from towns from all across the state.

In response to the public’s engagement, GoLocalTV anchors Greg Berman and Lauren Marchetti decided to take some reports to the next level and follow-up on a few of the complaints personally. Today on GoLocalTV, Lauren and Greg investigate a dangerously eroded segment of sidewalk in Providence, as well as some defaced public signs.

The first report is of some severely damaged sidewalk outside the Providence train station. Roughly 10-square-feet of sidewalk has eroded into dust, and the nearby stairs are collapsing on themselves. This was first reported on SeeClickFix months ago, but has been consistently flagged since. If not addressed, this area will become increasingly dangerous in the cold and icy months ahead.

The second complaint addressed is that of some local graffiti which greatly obscures a sign on Promenade St. The surrounding area has been completely defaced by graffiti vandals, and the tags on the sign actually make it difficult to read the direction for the upcoming turn.

Have you seen something in your community that needs fixing? Make your voices heard by using the SeeClickFix widget on the GoLocalProv homepage. Local public works officials will automatically be notified of your complaint by e-mail, and GoLocalTV will continue to follow up on issues that go unaddressed.
