NEW: Gist to Hold Community Forum in Central Falls This Week

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Education Commissioner Deborah Gist will hold a community forum in Central Falls this Thursday.

The forum is a regularly scheduled stop in her 2010-11 Listening and Learning Tour. But the meeting comes as the district leadership is under fire from its two employee unions, both of which have held votes of no confidence in the superintendent and board of trustees. The leadership has also been criticized heavily in recent weeks by state Senator John Tassoni.

The meeting is Thursday, June 9, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Central Falls High School library.

The Rhode Island Department of Education also announced two other community forums yesterday:

Newport School District
Today (June 6), 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Rogers High School (auditorium), 15 Wickham Rd.

Warwick School District
Wednesday, June 8, 6:30 -8 p.m.
Pilgrim High School (auditorium), 111 Pilgrim Parkway

Looks like the lack of posts says it all. Wonder if the administrators will be in attendance when she addresses the teachers so that teachers are not allowed to speak just like in December.

They should call this the Gist Magic Show. She is amazing at deflecting questions and avoiding telling the truth. She is not to be believed. Gist is a clone from the Broad Academy. If you want to read about her game plan just google "How do I know if my district is infected with the Broad virus." It's an eye opener.

Teachers were allowed to speak but were not as coached as this media hound. She was appointed to a position and she made wine out of the CF teachers. She probably has more to blame for creating a division between teachers and administration, town vs town and any security or peace that RI had.
