NEW: German Satellite May Hit North America This Weekend

Another satellite is going to be falling this weekend - this one a german. The 2.7-ton Roentgen Satellite, or ROSAT, is expected to hit North or South Amerca today or Sunday, so says the latest update from the German Aerospace Center.
The german space junk is called the ROSAT and it weighs about 5,348 pounds. It was launched into orbit in the 1990's as part of a joint mission by Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.

This time slot of uncertainty will be reduced as the date of re-entry approaches. However, even one day before re-entry, the estimate will only be accurate to within plus/minus five hours."
This is the second satellite coming down on the potential heads of earthlings. Last month an old NASA climate satellite came crashing down. The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) splashed into the Pacific Ocean according to NASA.
