NEW: Gemma’s Private Investigation Firm has Ties to State Police

The private investigation firm hired by Anthony Gemma to look into voter fraud and Congressman David Cicilline is run by several former State Troopers, multiple sources tell GoLocalProv.

Warwick-based TRP Associates, LLC was formed in 2010 and is managed by Dennis Pincince, James Mullen and Thomas Underhill, according to corporate filings with the Secretary of State’s office. The three combined to serve with the State Police for more than 70 years.

Neither the Gemma campaign nor TRP Associates have responded to multiple requests for comment made over the last two days. The company did not appear on Gemma’s campaign finance report, which was filed on June 30.

Gemma is set to hold a press conference to explain why his campaign hired the firm next Wednesday. In a press advisory sent this morning, the Gemma campaign said “Mr. Gemma will also discuss how investigating voter fraud revealed other potential criminal actions by David Cicilline and his associates. The investigation has now attracted the attention of several federal authorities.”

The U.S. Attorney’s office would neither confirm nor deny that an investigation is underway.

Cicilline campaign manager Eric Hyers labeled Gemma’s claims a “a desperate and outrageous stunt.”

"If Anthony Gemma has something to say or an accusation to make he needs to say it now and show whatever proof he claims he has,” Hyers said. ”This is a desperate and outrageous stunt; he ought to put up or shut up today.”
