NEW: Gemma Backs Obama, Announces Support for Gay Marriage
Wednesday, May 09, 2012

The pro-life candidate, who is challenging openly gay incumbent David Cicilline, said “it is time for America to guarantee civil rights including the right to marry freely and within the law, to all Americans regardless of race, creed, color, or sexual orientation.”
“The Democratic Party continues to stand for civil rights,” Gemma said. “This is not a question of being a liberal, a progressive, or a conservative. It is instead about the core American values – values that will always be championed by the Democratic Party.”

Hold the presses!!!! A local democrat politician is going to agree with a democrat president on any particular issue??? Wow, I didn't see that one coming.
There's that great investigating and important reporting that we've come to know from golocal.
Thanks to you people, I'm learning to hate just about everything and everyone. thank you.

This guy better keep his focus on Cicilline. With the new district alignment, too many senior high rises and Rhode Island democrat's voting history in play, he needs to keep focussed on Davey, and nothing else.

What are the chances that this will draw Gemma a spot in the "HOT" column of "Who's Hot or Not" article tomorrow... Of course, we haven't heard anything else from him since his - in his words "game changing announcement." Probably sorting out a way to pay for his previous campaign.
