Democratic Congressional candidate Anthony Gemma and his wife are separating after 17 years of marriage, Gemma’s campaign announced today.

Gemma released the following statement:

“After careful consideration, Julie and I have made a mutual decision to end our 17 year marriage in a peaceful and mutually respectful manner,” Gemma said. “As has always been the case, our son Anthony's best interests will remain our number one priority. At this time, this shall be our official statement and we will have no further comment on this matter. We ask that you respect our family’s privacy.”
