NEW: Gas Prices Up 9 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island jumped nine cents in the last week, the largest one-week increase locally since late last April, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s January 9 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.44 per gallon, nine cents higher than last week. The current price is seven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.37. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.17.
