NEW: Gas Prices Up 2 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up two cents this week, the third consecutive week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s April 2 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.89 per gallon, two cents higher than last week. Prices locally are up nine cents over the last month.

The current price is three cents less than the national average for regular unleaded of $3.92. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.62.
