NEW: Gas Prices Spike by 8 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up eight cents this week, the second consecutive week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 23rd survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.62 per gallon, eight cents higher than last week. Prices locally are up 15 cents over the past two weeks.
The current price is 15 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.47. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.84.
