NEW: Gas Prices Spike by 7 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up seven cents this week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s August 14th survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.75 per gallon, seven cents higher than last week. Prices locally are up 21 cents over the last month.
The current price is five cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.70. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.77.
