NEW: Gas Prices Jump Two Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up two cents this week, the first weekly increase locally since last October 1st, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s January 7th survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.539 per gallon, two cents higher than last week. Prices locally are down five cents over the last month.
The current price is 24 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.29. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.44.
