NEW: Gas Prices Hold Steady

The volatile weather this past weekend has not taken a toll on gas prices in Rhode Island. Holding steady following three weeks of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s August 29th survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self- serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.73 per gallon, the same price as last week. This number is 12 cents above the national average of $3.61. Last year at this time, Rhode Island’s average price was $2.66- 97 cents lower than today’s numbers.
AAA is advising motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. The range in prices in the latest survey for unleaded regular is 27 cents, from a low of $3.62 to a high of $3.89.
