NEW: Gas Prices Down Six Cents

Monday, June 18, 2012

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down six cents this week, the ninth consecutive week of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s June 18th survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.54 per gallon, six cents less than last week. Prices locally have dropped 43 cents since the peak gas price seen in the April 16th survey.

The current price is four cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.50. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.79.
