Thanksgiving travelers can take advantage of falling gasoline prices, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s November 21 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.46 per gallon, down four cents from last week. The current price is eleven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.35. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $3.02—forty-four cents lower than today’s numbers.

The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $3.249 to a high of $3.649. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
