NEW: Gas Prices Down for Fourth Straight Week

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down another three cents this week, the fourth consecutive week of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s May 14 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.84 per gallon, three cents less than last week. Prices locally have dropped 13 cents over the last month. The current price is 12 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.72. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $4.03.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 24 cents, from a low of $3.749 to a high of $3.98. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
