NEW: Gas Prices Down 5 Cents

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down five more cents this week, the third consecutive week of decreases, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s May 7 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.87 per gallon, five cents less than last week. Prices locally have dropped ten cents over the last three weeks.
The current price is 10 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.77. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $4.05.
