NEW: Gas Prices Climb by 7 Cents

Monday, July 16, 2012

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up seven cents this week, marking the first increase in gas prices in the past 13 weeks, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s July 16th survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.54 per gallon, seven cents higher than last week.

“A recent surge in oil prices is paving the way for an increase in gasoline prices, said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of Public & Government Affairs at AAA. “The good news is that the numbers are still down 43 cents from the $3.97 peak reached in mid-April.”
