Monday, January 25, 2016
Former North Providence Republican Committee Chair Michael Grossi has passed away after battling cancer.
"The untimely passing of a genuinely good man, Michael Grossi, has shocked us. Our prayers are too deep for words. May his beautiful family have some level of comfort in their loss and sorrow. Life is eternal and love cannot die," said Brandon Bell, Chairman of the Rhode Island Republican Party on Monday.
Mark Dosdourian with RI Republicans offered the following remembrance of Grossi.

I was at a Patriot's football party last night and in the course of conversation Michael's name came up and we were thinking of Michael even then.
Michael and I were Town Committee Chairs together, he in North Providence and I was in Cumberland. Mike's attitude was always positive and upbeat. He always had a good word and was encouraging, especially when the fortunes of the state party were down with Obama's win in 2008.
As Chairs we always worked hard to build our town committees and attended state party functions to get the word out on building the Republican Brand. Michael was one of the few chairs that fully supported the early creation of the www.RIRepublicans.com website as a way to get information out on the state party and increase visibility. Even while battling cancer Michael was involved as much as he could in the GOP.
Mike and Diane loved their kids and I remember Michael talking about them as any proud father would. I never knew Diane but I did know Michael and how he was by her side while fighting his own battle with cancer. As tough as Michael's fight was he always had a positive outlook and was determined to win his battle. Mike and Diane were both fighters and will be missed. God Bless you Michael and your two wonderful children.
