NEW: EngageRI Board Members Hosting Fundraiser for Senate President’s PAC

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Several prominent EngageRI board members are hosting a fundraiser for Senate President M. Teresa Paiva Weed ‘s political action committee (PAC) next Monday morning, GoLocalProv has learned.

Board president and co-chairperson Ed Cooney, vice president Connie Pemmerl, Paul J. Choquette, Jr, Brad Dimeo and Jon Duffy are listed as the host committee for the fundraiser, which will benefit the RI Senate Leadership PAC.

Hosts are being asked to contribute $500 and guests are being asked to contribute $250.

Duffy said the fundraiser is being hosted by the individual members of the board and is not an official EngageRI event.

EngageRI was established last year to help support General Treasurer Gina Raimondo’s efforts to reform the state’s struggling pension system. The group’s PAC later contributed $1,000 each to the campaign accounts of Paiva Weed, House Speaker Gordon Fox, House Majority Leader Nick Mattiello, Senate Majority Leader Dominick Ruggerio, House Finance Chairman Helio Melo and Senate Finance chairman Daniel DaPonte.

Supporting the politicians who have demonstrated honesty. Note there are hundreds of names missing.

Wow a who's who of Democrats that have helped get us to where we are today! DEAD LAST FOR BUSINESS and #2 in Unemployment! Raimondo is a big part--now I am just waiting for Cicilline to join the group. It's time for a new name ENRAGE RI, because that is what they are all doing. They all need to go! Vote them out in November! Birds of a feather=power=money=corruption=Rhode Island.
