NEW: Court to Review Pleau Murder Case

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

A majority of the active judges for the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals have voted to consider the case of Jason Wayne Pleau, who allegedly murdered a man attempting to make a bank deposit at a Woonsocket bank last September.

The court will decide whether Governor Chafee has the right to refuse to hand Pleau over to the feds.

Chafee has expressed concern over whether Pleau would receive the death penalty because the state is against capital punishment.
