NEW: Colin Kane May Serve as Interim Executie Director at EDC

The chairman of the I-195 commission has emerged as the leading candidate to serve as interim executive director of the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (EDC), sources tell GoLocalProv.
Colin Kane, a Principal at Peregrine Group LLC., is the former development manager at Gilbane Properties. Kane has worked on major real estate projects including mixed-use campuses, historic rehabilitations, multi-family housing, hospitality venues, planned residential communities, large-scale corporate and institutional build-to-suits (including medical facilities), and brownfield redevelopment.
If appointed, Kane would replace Keith Stokes, who resigned from his post Wednesday evening after facing criticism for his role in a deal that that Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios a $75 million loan guarantee two years ago. The video game company is reportedly seeking bridge financing after missing a $1.125 million payment due to the EDC on May 1.
