NEW: City’s Planning Director Resigns

Thomas Deller, the city's Director of Planning and Development, has resigned, multiple sources tell GoLocalProv.
Deller, who is said to be in the running for a position in Hartford, CT, has held the job since 2003.
Deller's role with the city has been in flux since Jim Bennett was brought on as the Director of Economic Development. He lost his position overseeing the controversial Providence Economic Development Partnership (PEDP) and also saw numerous staffing changes within his department.

Deller did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
