The city of Providence has terminated its agreement with former Supreme Court judge Robert Flanders, GoLocalProv has learned.

Mayor Angel Taveras was said to be upset with Flanders' recent suggestion that bankruptcy was inevitable for the cash-strapped capital city.

Flanders' law firm Hinckley Allen & Snyder,had been earning $395 to consult with the city.

Flanders did not immediately return a request for comment.
