Congressman David Cicilline's campaign is ramping up its attacks on Republican candidate Brendan Doherty by labeling him a right-wing conservative and highlighting his relationship with a Texas Congressman who is in town to raise money for Doherty.
In an e-mail that went out to supporters today, the campaign said "national Republicans are targeting David’s seat and it’s time for us to fight back. In less than 7 hours, Texas Republican Rep. Pete Sessions will be hosting a $2500 a head fundraiser for David’s Republican opponent right here in Rhode Island."
The message paints Sessions' as a right-winger who is working hard keep a Republican majority in the House and calls out Doherty for accepting his support.
