NEW: Acting Finance Director Kerbel Leaves City Hall

Richard Kerbel, the acting finance director in the city of Providence, is no longer a member of Mayor Angel Taveras’ staff, the city has confirmed. His final day on the job was Thursday.
Kerbel was the Director of Administration under former mayor and now Congressman David Cicilline before Taveras decided to move him to the new position. He was still making approximately $140,000 per year.
The city has yet to a hire a full-time finance director.

Kerbel was also an ex-officio member of both the Board of Investment Commissioners and the Retirement Board as well as a member of the Providence Public Building Authority. He is replaced on all three committees by Deputy Finance director Lawrence Mancini.
