National Weather Service: Heavy Rain & Strong Thunderstorms Possible Today in Prov

The National Weather Service has issued a"hazardous weather outlook" for Providence Tuesday afternoon and evening with a chance of heavy rain and strong thunderstorms.
The weather service estimates that there is a 40% chance of rain in in the afternoon and a 30% chance of rain on Tuesday night.
"A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%," the weather service said.
