Meet the GoLocalTV Team

When GoLocalTV goes live this afternoon, it will be captained by two young, ambitious reporters with a keen sense of the pace and attack of digital media.
Meet Greg Berman
Greg Berman, a recent graduate of Brown University who is from nearby Winchester, MA, builds on his background of writing and editing for his alma mater's Independent newspaper. Berman started writing last year for GoLocalProv and immediately began contributing bylined pieces to the site in channels as diverse as News, Politics, Business, and even Food and Lifestyle.
"I was able to be involved in so many interesting areas," Berman says about his GoLocal experience "Being able to bring news to Rhode Islanders immediately is exciting and leveraging the sharing of media through social media is powerful." Berman took naturally to the demands of the 24-hour digital news cycle. "I thrived off the atmosphere and intensity of it," he says.
Berman continues to write for GoLocal, covering complex beats such as the state's ongoing pension crisis. Further, he is enjoying putting a lifelong interest in theater and performance to good use, both in front of the camera and in the editing process, finding the tempo and pace to bring GoLocal's viewers a vibrant boost to their news day.
Meet Lauren Marchetti
Lauren Marchetti, 26, is a born and bred Rhode Islander, growing up in Cranston, attending Cranston West High School, and graduating from the University of Rhode Island. She drew on intern experience with Clear Channel Communications and WPRI-TV to enter the digital world with a keen desire to help change the media landscape.
Marchetti has already taken charge of her own camerawork and video editing at GoLocal, contributing regular pieces that will form the daily pulse of GoLocalTV.
"I love the fast pace of life at GoLocal," says Marchetti, who also works for the New England Patriots as a cheerleader. "We come in, get out and do interviews, come right back, cut our own videos, and put it together for the 4 o'clock broadcast," she said. "It's non-stop. Just the way I like to live my life."
