Matt Jennings of Providence’s Farmstead Tapped By Michelle Obama for National Program

Friday, May 28, 2010

Matt Jennings, Executive Chef, Co-Owner and Master Cheesemonger of Providence's Farmstead, has been asked by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign (www.letsmove.gov) to join the team on their newest program, “Chefs Move to Schools.”  Mrs. Obama is calling on chefs to get involved by adopting a school and working with teachers, parents and school nutrition professionals and administrators to help educate kids about food and nutrition. By creating healthy dishes that taste good, chefs have a unique ability to deliver these messages in a fun and appealing way to the larger audience, particularly children.

Chef Jennings will be visiting the White House on Friday, June 5th.
