Map of Temporary Bus Stops for Kennedy Plaza Reconstruction
Monday, July 14, 2014
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) has temporarily relocated all bus stops out of Kennedy Plaza to accommodate renovations to the Plaza.
The renovations are set to create a large civic space, reorganize bus berth locations and improve pedestrian connections both to and from the plaza. The work is expected to be complete by Fall 2014.
Bus routes will be altered slightly to avoid entering into Kennedy Plaza, with bus stops relocating to Exchange Street, Sabin Street, Exchange Terrace, Fountain Street, and Steeple Street. The Park N’ Ride service will be relocated from Exchange Terrace to Sabin Street but will continue to pick up passengers at other downtown locations.
