Law Enforcement Fatalities Spike 78% in 2016

According to a National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund report, shooting deaths of law enforcement officers have risen 78% in the first half of 2016 compared to last year.
While the report notes that the death of law enforcement officers is still lower than in previous decades, like the 1970s, there has been an increase in fatalities from ambush-style assaults ilke the shootings in Dallas and Baton Rouge earlier in the month.
