VIDEO: Johnson & Wales: Feeding 1,200 People in Need

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Providence Mayor-elect Angel Taveras and staff at Johnson & Wales University served meals to over 1,200 homeless people and others in need yesterday. The 19th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for Those in Need was preceded by a press conference where John & Wales President Dr. Irving Schneider presented a check for $5,000 to the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless, for a winter shelter.

(Other speakers not in the video: Susan Connery, director of the Feinstein Community Service Center at the university; Michelle Pugh, the Community Service Chef Educator; and Jim Ryczek, executive director of the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless.)
