iPhone 4 Mania in Providence Place Mall

Friday, June 25, 2010

People had been waiting at the Providence Place Mall since as early as 1 in the morning to get their hands on the new iPhone 4. By 7 a.m., there were about 500 people waiting in a line that stretch throughout the whole first level of the mall. There were rumors of people offering as much as $400 to cut in line. The people waiting seemed a bit tired, but all were overjoyed once getting their hands on the new iPhone 4.

It has been one year since Apple has come out with the last iPhone. While all of the iPhone releases have generated a significant amount of hype, the iPhone 4 has considerably done the best compared to the original iPhone release. In his keynote speech at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference 2010 Steve Jobs said  that the iPhone 4 is the biggest leap since the original iPhone. With features like video calling and camera recording in HD, there is no wonder why. It was clearly enough to have RI residents camp out for hours to be the first ones to get it.
