Former Providence Mayor Interested in Buying ABC 6

Former Providence mayor Joseph Paolino tells GoLocalProv he interested in buying ABC 6, which is in receivership. “I am looking strictly preliminary as an investor, not as somebody that wants to operate a television station,” said Paolino, a manager at his family’s business, Paolino Properties. He said he could not elaborate, citing a confidentiality agreement with the receiver for the station.
"I think it has some good opportunities and it needs a group of people who understand its potential and can transition it to the 21st century model of how media delivers to the people," Paolino said.
But Paolino would not say if he was part of a group of investors looking at the buy.

One other person mentioned in news reports as a possible buyer, local entrepreneur Angus Davis, would not confirm with GoLocalProv whether he looking at the deal too.
