Can Twitter really change the world? This Thursday, Providence’s Social Media Club will attempt to address this question by hosting Dr. Richard Lobban, an expert on Egypt and military security, for a casual discussion on the role of Social Media in the recent Egyptian Revolution.

Dr. Lobban was in Egypt during the uprising—which he now refers to as a “virtual civil war”—and will be sharing his first hand account of the escalating violence and the methods the protestors used to organize themselves.

The event take place May 3rd, 6:30 PM, in the Candita Clayton Studio, which is located inside Hope Artiste Village, and will by followed by a wine reception hosted by The Savory Grape.
