David Mumford, professor emeritus of applied mathematics, received the National Medal of Science from President Barack Obama at a White House ceremony early Wednesday evening. Ten winners of the National Medal of Science, the nation’s highest scientific honor, were announced Oct. 15, 2010. Watch the video to see an interview with Mumford and to see the award ceremony.
