Joshua Boccanfuso has been shot at by Afghan soldiers and watched his friend die on patrol.

He's also barely 21, a Warwick native, and stationed at Camp Zerok, an admittedly hellish combat outpost nicknamed "Ambush Alley" located in Paktika Province, Afghanistan.

This week, he shares his personal photographs and observations of his life in camp, on patrol, with friends who've gone AWOL and who've passed away.
