Cianci Foundation Awards on Federal Hill

The newly formed Cianci Foundation kicked off the award of their scholarships and grants Tuesday night on Federal Hill.
Dr. Brad Turchetta, Buddy Cianci’s nephew and Chairman of Board of Directors formally announced Tuesday the formation of the Cianci Educational Foundation. This foundation is in the process of merging the efforts of the Vincent A. Cianci Scholarship Fund and Vincent A. Cianci Library and Research Center.

GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTThe Foundation's the new mission: The Cianci Educational Foundation is dedicated to assist those in Rhode Island that strive to achieve continuing education through college scholarships and additionally to further enhance the educational spirit of arts, economy, urban development, health care and politics through sponsorship support.
In addition, at the reception the Foundation honored 14 scholarship recipients each receiving $1000 toward there first year of college.
In total $48,500 will be awarded at the reception.
