NEW: Brown Forum Gives Latin America’s Views on Climate Change

Brown University will host a day-long forum this Friday, April 8 entitled “Latin America and Climate Change: Regional Perspectives on a Global Problem.”
The conference, hosted by the University’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Center for Environmental Studies, will feature lectures from various Brown faculty members, as well as several notable guest speakers, including a keynote address by Ricardo Lagos, former President of Chile and current member of the UN Special Envoy for Climate Change.

Lectures will cover topics ranging from deforestation in the Amazon to regional economic impacts of climate change in various Latin American and Caribbean nations.
Brown is an integral partner of Intercambio Climático, a trilingual blog for the Latin American Platform on Climate (LAPC), and active in collaborative climate change initiatives focusing on Rhode Island.
The conference will be held at the Joukowsky Forum in the Watson Institute for International Studies at 111 Thayer St. in Providence.
