BREAKING: State Rep. Dan Gordon Arrested

Republican State Rep. Dan Gordon had been arrested by Rhode Island State Police on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to appear in court in Massachusetts.

Gordon had a warrant out for his arrest in Massachusetts dating back to a 2008 incident in which he allegedly attempted to elude an officer.

Gordon, who represents Portsmouth, Tiverton, Little Compton, has been stranger to controversy in his first term as a State. Rep. Earlier this month, he was voted out of the Republican Caucus for making critical comments about some his colleagues on the internet.

In March, Gordon made headlines when he called for a gay-straight alliance at Tiverton High School to stop meeting on school grounds, arguing that, “I don’t think there would be much of a problem with bullying if students weren’t flaunting their sexuality in school.”
