BREAKING NEWS Buckles Melise Sentenced to 46 Months in Prison

Edward “Buckles” Melise, a former Providence city official, has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for conspiracy, possession, and distribution of more than 1,000 OxyContin pills, the U.S. Attorney’s office announced today.
Buckles, who is 60, will be on supervised release for three years after his imprisonment. During that time, U.S District Court Chief Judge Mary M. Lisi ordered Melise to seek counseling for a gambling addiction.
