The storm centered just south of Long Island at midnight continues in full swing across Southern New England. A Blizzard Warning continues in effect for the area. Snow will continue tonight with varying intensity into the morning along with wind gusts to 60 mph and periodic white-out conditions. Snow has mixed with or changed to rain right along the coast into the Cape and Islands but even there it will go back to snow as the storm pulls away from the area during the morning. Several additional inches of snow are likely so that the original forecast of anywhere from a foot to two feet of accumulation is still what is expected with highest amounts north and west of Providence and less toward the coast. The snow will gradually taper as the storm heads away from us tomorrow but strong winds will continue to blow and drift the snow throughout the day. I'll have another update around daybreak.
