A RI Soldier’s Life: Precious Family Time
Monday, July 26, 2010
It's slightly more than halfway through PFC Joshua Boccanfuso's leave, and his family gathered this weekend at Narragansett, at his uncle's home, to celebrate their soldier who is in Rhode Island for just 15 days before returning to Combat Outpost Zerok in Afghanistan.
There were barbecued burgers and lawn games, talk and laughter among Joshua's family and friends. Another fine summer day, although a fierce thunderstorm blew through, darkening and drenching the shore. But the sun came out again.
In and amongst it all, this 20-year-old enjoyed his fleeting time. And this Rhode Island family shared the joy and bittersweet nature of a soldier's leave.
