Friday, September 08, 2017
While the City of Providence claims to be working to clean up Kennedy Plaza, a video has emerged of a violent fight - in broad daylight - spilling into the street.
GoLocal obtained the footage which shows two men fighting with bystanders watching - and a woman trying to break it up - with an umbrella.
For the beleaguered central location in Providence, the persistent violence continues to be problematic.

The fight took place the same week Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza unveiled the first "donation station" in Kennedy Plaza -- which came a year after Elorza, along with former Providence Joseph Paolino, introduced plans to improve the safety of the city hub.
Meanwhile, a new playground -- Brandon's Beach -- was opened at Kennedy Plaza this summer, to bring in children and families.
