5 People Shot in Providence’s Chad Brown Area

5 individuals were shot in Providence’s Chad Brown section of the city Tuesday night.
“We have incidents where we have multiple victims, but 5 is a lot for sure,” said Providence Detective Captain Michael E. Correia.
Correia said the last 2 Providence shootings of this size were both gang related. On June 15, 2013 there was a homicide, and 3 others were shot on Hartford Avenue. 5 people were shot on May 21, 2012 in a gang-related incident on Academy Avenue.

All 5 victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, and one person is in serious condition. Correia did not have any new updates on the condition of the victims.
